cleaning my big eyes

A very nice macro shot! The timing is perfect and the expression you have captured really works well. The shallow depth of field has resulted is a very pleasing background with the bright, round areas adding interest, without taking away from the overall image.

I think that the colour balace works out quite nicely too. Mostly cooler colours, except for the browns and yellows that draw the eyes in to the same plane as the rest of the insect.

I find that very shallow depth of field is really tricky in these macro shots . I almost wish you could have stopped down a bit more to bring a little additional sharpness to the rest of the dragonfly(?)
