thank you, roberta,i am always again surprised about the loveliness of the tiny world. this was one of the perfect days, perfect weather, a good breakfast and a lot of time
I love when it all comes together like that...I'm looking forward to spring and getting out to take more pictures and exploring nature. I admit in the winter I'm not as motivated to do much of anything. By the end of the day, it's cold in the house (heating oil is way to expensive to turn the heat up to more than 59 or 60) and I just want to curl up with the dog under a couch blanket by the TV. I do make a good breakfast every day though - I cut/wash/peel lots of fresh fruits and vegetables and make my own juice no matter what the weather...A little bit of spring on my kitchen table...oh well, just a few more weeks, right?
Funny you should ask...It's really almost done. Actually everything I have to do is done as far as I know. It should be 11 songs. I'm trying gently these past few weeks to get Jim to drag out the recording equipment and either redo or remove his background vocals on one song he wasn't happy with. (He gets so overwhelmed with recording and then it just sits.)
That's basically all that needs to be done except of course giving the mixes one last listen-to, which hopefully won't open up a whole new can of worms. A friend even offered us free mastering! I am so anxious to complete this project but trying so hard not to be a nag. So maybe soon...maybe...I will totally let you know when this is complete. Actually I will probably be dancing and shouting it from the rooftops when it's done. LOL. In the meantime I have some links on sound cloud in my DA journals of two new songs I wrote with my horrible guitar playing...You'll see why Jim's accompaniment is well worth waiting for.
oh that is a great step further for you. i`ll check it out and wait for the album. i understand your happiness, it is really something special, your voice is lovely, hope you sell o lot of thousands of your albums
Thanks so much for all your kind words, Jo. I admit I get so frustrated sometimes because the single I released hardly sold anything (I made less than $20 so far) and the two e-books I published also hardly sold anything either. So it means a lot to feel a little appreciated once in a while. My daughter was so sweet - she said never give up and to keep writing because what I have to offer was meant to be heard, even if it doesn't happen in my lifetime - that someday, somewhere in the future it will touch whoever it was meant to reach. I sure have raised a great daughter, right? That matters a lot more than fame or recognition...
I'm hoping one day next week that I can get Jim to look at the CD project. We got sidetracked this week because we got asked to do a gig of (get this) cowboy/campfire songs for the end of this month - an indoor campfire event for seniors at a nursing home. So we accepted the gig and have been pulling together lots of folk music to learn - very different from our regular jazz concerts...Then we have to dig out the Irish music and practice for our St. Patrick's Day gigs in March. LOL I'll have to be a little bit of a nag and try to squeeze the CD in there somewhere so it doesn't get forgotten for another year. Wish me luck. Maybe this year will bring good things
I am shure the year will bring good things for you. i know the most gift for an artist is to get apprecciated, second is to earn money with. but i really got the impression you have a lot luck with your lovely daughter, your boyfriend, and the gift of your voice. that is more worth, than the rest of it
